Carradice Camper questions..

Hi, heading to Bosnia and Croatia this spring, rather than take my heavy Nomad I'm going to go light and credit-card tour. Thinking of using my 'cross bike which has no rack provision at all so looking at a Carradice Camper long-flap, before I buy can you squeeze in enough for a 2week trip OK? Also, imagine I'll need a bag support to stop it fouling the canti brakes and so on but I have no idea which model of 'bagman' I need... any tips gratefully received!

Hi Jalapeno,
I have the Camper Long Flap and the SQR system which I will be using on a 5 day JOGLE in May. They are surprisingly roomy but obviously you will need to keep your kit list down. I would imagine, if you are happy travelling fairly light and double up with a small handlebar bag for your valuables you will find it sufficient.
Whereabouts are you in Cornwall? I live in Newlyn and will b working in Camborne on Friday and Saturday if you want to check the bag out for size?

With a handle bar bag for valuables you'll have lots of room with the Camper.
Assuming you have a Brooks or similar saddle with bag loops you'll need the Expedition Bagman for the Camper.

wow, that's a lot of gear, aside from bivy bag it's more than I used in S America last year, the Camper sounds ideal.!0

It looks a lot, but it's not a lot of volume or weight. The total is around 16lbs (including bags). The eeePC has added 2 lbs to my gear, but it's worth it.0

thanks for all the info, i did think about an eepc, my ideal would be if Apple would stick blutooth in the tPod Touch so I could use it with a portable keyboard

I don't find the keyboard on the iPhone/iTouch to be the biggest issue when blogging or web surfing, it's the size of the screen and the inability to interface to other devices like a camera. If I'm on tour I like to take pictures and the iPhone's camera isn't great and getting the photos to a website is a pain. So I take the eeePC as the screen is big enough to see all of a web page at decent resolution and I can drag and drop photos from my camera.0
