My bro wants to start cycling again but his bike needs a service. He lives in West Kirby, I haven't lived there for years so I don't know if there is anywhere good. I remember going into Moreton Cycles but not sure what they are like now. He has a car and travels to Warrington a lot, but I suppose something within cycling range would be more sensible.
Thanks in advance.

Birkenhead cycles in Conway St and K. Cycles New Chester Rd Eastam are good.

There are quite a few decent local bike shops on the Wirral. The one I use most is The Wheel Base in Rock Ferry. But Moreton bike shop still exists and seems quite popular so are Birkenhead Cycles and K Cycles in Eastham as mentioned in the previous post. There is also small bike shop in Hoylake but Ive never used it so dont know what it's like. You are spoilt for choice really. Hope your brother enjoys his cycling again. - Rich

Not too far away in Chester is the Bike Factory - they also have (same ownership I think) the Specialised Concept store

I had my Tifosi serviced at the Bike Factory a couple of weeks ago - £41 for the basic job (you can pay more for a more detailed service). They seemed to have done it well.

There is also Roy Davies Cycles in Hoylake. He has a small shop on the high street but in all my time cycling he is deffo the most helpfull - I am sure if you went into see him he will spec up a bike for you without any probs... Last time I was there he had just finished building his Cervello R3 and it looked awesome. For services and stuff I always use him and so do my folks. Check him out if your looking to keep it local

You've been missing something then ;-) - they do have a separate Specialized shop, but the main one has European makes as well: Pinarello, Dawes, Raleigh were the ones I noticed a week or two ago, but I'm sure there were others. I bought my Tifosi off them 4 years ago as well...

There is a bike shop on Banks Road in WK - great if your brother wants a California style cruiser - or a BMX. Not sure what else they sell.
