Equivalent to a Boardman hybrid singlespeed...

I've figured that what I would like for my commute - in a dream world - is a singlespeed equivalent of one of the Boardman hybrids - basically, a flat bar, circa £400 bike in stealth black (or similar low-key colouring), but singlespeed. Rack mounts useful. Decent components (I like what the Boardman range offers).

Suggestions/biassed opinions welcome? !

Seriously though, why not just buy a frame and get a SS built up.

Or get a Pearson Touche in black builtl up with whatever components you fancy.

  • That Pearson looks great - with flat bars it would be just what I'm after (I've nothing against drops by the way, it's just that for this I'm fixated on flat bars...). If you don't mind me asking, what is the rough price of building up a bike like that? Obviously, the sky is the limit with some components....

Genesis day one another interesting suggestion, but a bit pricey.

    Thanks for the replies!

Call Pearson, they're very helpful fella's and will spec the bike up for you. 0208 642 2095

Not sure it'll come in at below £400, but well worth the money.

    Also, give drops a go!
  • Thanks, will do!

    Ooh, forgot one.

Cotic Roadrat (If I wanted a flat bar roadie this is what I'd go for).
  • If you lose the flat bar fixation there's always this:
