cost for changing gears

i might need my gears moved from my old bike to my new 1, iv been told i will need new cables how much will this cost me at a bike shop to do for me, or is it quite easy to do? im good with my hands but never done this b4???

  • Its often a little tricky than you may imaging. What bike are you taking them off and putting them on?

    Cables shouldn't be too expensive, and well worth checking out Parktools webby for further info.

    Cables £2 each.

    Cable end caps £1 for all.

    Gear service on both bikes around £15 each.

    Around £40 but depends on where you go.

    Its not hard to do though, have a look at park tools.

    Ive just changed the gear cables on my MTB. Cables totalled less than £10.
    Its not too difficult, I managed it and Ive got a paralysed hand.
