Armed robbers vehicle of choice - the cycle!?

We've had two armed robberies in southampton in the past week and at rush hour too. It seems that both scroats escaped quickly and easily...

...thanks to riding a pushbike around the traffic.

I said this previously when it happened that a car as an escape would go nowhere and probably end up with the guy being shot by armed response and the bike was the logical choice for quick escape. :?

    I think its more a case of what they could afford, or ease of stealing for transport being more likely. Also you can hear a motor scooter coming and going.. perhaps that had a slight factor.
