Turbo Trainer

Hi Guys.

just bought a minoura VFS150 turbo trainer and it is chewing up the back tyre, just wondering if this is natural?

The tyre is a Continental Contact 28 x 1 1/4 x 1 3/4

    Have you thought of picking up a turbo specific tyre? Think conti make a bright yellow one, much harder rubber(i think)

    Hi,

    I had the same combination of trainer and tyre, swapped to a Continental Home Trainer tyre from Evans cycles. Now runs much quieter and still showing no signs of wear (make sure the metal roller is set correctly on the tyre as too much/little pressure can speed up wear rate)

    There are lots of people on here suffering from shredding standard road tyres on trainers so you're not alone!
