I bent a stans olympic rim racing yesterday in thetford its well visible bend not sure if I need a new rim as i'm worried does re trueing a wheel make it the same strength as before or is it now gonna be weaker even if i get it true again

  • Wheels especially new ones will often go slightly out. If you true such a wheel it will have no negative effect on how strong a wheels is. It will actually make it stronger. If a wheel is significantly bent and you have to significantly over tighten individual spokes to get the thing true again then its never going to be as strong as it once was.

if the wheel can be re trued it will be fine.

if it cant then new rim time.

    talk to your wheel builder.
