Hi all. Is there a way of bringing my brake levers closer to the bars. I have smallish hands. Its a Specialized Allez Elite with 105. I had heard that you can put shims in to bring them closer but can't find anything

I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • Thanks thats very helpful. Now I feel stupid for not finding them. Looks like I will have to add something to the order to make it worth while
  • I have the same problem with my Tiagra shifters. Will the same spacers work?

they might do but the 105 shifters always feel slightly bigger and Hudz for 105/ultegra don't fit tiagra so there might be a slight difference and the shims won't fit

Had no idea such things existed. Good bit of kit that as I struggle to reach the levers when on the drops.

My Tiagra levers came with two pairs of shims of different thickness. I have fitted the thinner ones and the reach is now fine for me.
I suggest you ask in a few bike shops as they must have them lying around after building up bikes. Or they must be available from Shimano.
By the way my Tiagra shims don't look like those in the links above.
