probably just a seal not quite seated properly. Cant see you pinkbike, is it 20mm (i assume so on a V10!!!). If it is then grease the bolt through, and anywhere the metal goes on metal, pariculaly any bolts for the 20mm boltthough and where the 20mm cups sit on the forks and hub body.0

thanks ride_whenever, got it stripped on my bedroom floor now0

hmm just loaded it with grease however it still squeaks and grinds0

Maybe the bearings are fecked? Do they feel smooth?0
-
its a brand new hub so they shouldn't be fecked0

Might just need to bed in a bit, tight seals.0

just been on the horn with the guys at alpine glasgow, they said to take the bearings out and wipe around the area, is that a case of getting a sizeable socket and tapping them out?0
-
Yes, but be careful!
Hope has a guide on doing this on their site.0 -
does it? never saw that, link?0

Unless they have changed it! Sure they used to be!0

If it had been an old hub I'd have said the bearing immediately, and what makes it stranger is that it's always the brake-side one that goes first. If you grasp the top of the wheel with the bike standing on the floor and pull it side-to-side, can you feel any knocking? If yes, it's definitely the bearings (it's almost impossible to detect any other way).
It sounds like it might be a dodgy bearing in any case, because those are the only two rotating parts in the hub. In which case, it's back to where you bought them from and get them to sort it.
Having said that, have you tried spinning the wheel with the brake caliper removed? Does it squeak then? If not, it's a brake issue.0 -
ive had the rotor and the calliper off and it still squeaks, however i have just taken the black bearing cover off and packed it with grease and it didn't squeak, im just going to put it back together and see what happens0
