We need some fun posts today so - Obviously its really naughty to listen to music on a bike BUT...if you could, and you were powering past a scalp, showing no pain, holding back the perspiration and then bang you are through into the light with that still warm blood soaked scalp hanging from your belt...what music would you have to accompany this glorious moment!?

The actual scalp would occur 53 seconds into this.....

    this requires proper thought..

It'd be a song from AC/DC, High on Fire, Orange Goblin, Monster Magnet (powertrip album), Clutch or Scissorfight off the top of my head

Agreed - or "Wake Up" from the same album - track 7!
  • Ooh, it'd have to be something joyous, rather than something dripping with testosterone.

How about 'Tune up' by Jr Walker and The All Stars?

that whole album makes you cycle fast...good call.

    Bombtrack builds spectactularly well to.

Their covers album Renegades makes for a good sound track too.

I cycled home the other day without my tunes as I left the battery run down.. didn't like it all the car sounds are much louder

I don't listen to music on the bike (too dangerous to my mind), but I do think it....some good choices there (well, as bad as mine :) )
What has mostly been playing in my head recently: Metallica's Broken, Beat and Scarred. 'The dawn, The death, The fight to the final breath, What don't kill ya make ya more strong'. SCR summed up, surely?
Then there's Battery, Whiplash, Seek And Destroy.....

Was expecting to find a load of songs with tenuous puns or quite blatant connections to cycling in their titles, like Bicycle Races or some such. What a relief to find it's not.

I'd vote for We Will Rock You by Queen, the version they did for John Peel in a 1977 session; faster, harder, it gets de riddim goin. Man it's good.

ps - links to Youtube not much use for those of us at work behind systems that block Youtube (and MySpace, Facebook etc). I could switch them off for a while, but then the whole building would be on there...

As an older person who doesn't know what you young things are on about I would have to go for

    Motorhead - 'Ace of Spades'

Meatloaf - 'Bat out of Hell'

Wagner - 'Die Valkurie' - which incidently I also have as the ring tone on my mobile - strange but true - at least I think its strange and I know it's true
  • OK the music I listen to when I'm riding is:-

    Dragon Force
    Billy Talent
    Strapping young Lad
    Frenzal Rhomb
    Prodigy
    Faithless
    Metallica
    Rollins Band
    Pendulum

Well thats what I have on at the moment that is.

Yeah. Got the first EP knocking around somewhere. After that it went a bit mainstream, and frankly, a bit sheet so stopped listening

Anyhoo, don't listen to music while riding but I occasionally have stuff running through my brain. Recently it's been The Pretender (VP likes Foo Fighters but that's by the by) but sometimes it's things like Hyperspeed off The Prodigy Experience, makes me smile

    Monster Magnet (powertrip album)

I think you'll find that you can't cycle to Monster Magnet. The only correct form of transport when listening to those guys is driving a tractor on a drug farm.

For rides in the countryside, Mogwai.

For overtaking, ACCELERATOR off that Primal Scream record.

I have a limited edition one sided pressing of Little Baby Swastika that I left at a mates house and never saw again. I always wondered since if it was worth anything. :?: Probably not. They didn't exactly make it big did they.
