Race Face, Dainese or Troy Lee

What shin and knee combo is the best out of race face or dainese, i haven't heard much of dainese so also what is the best pad they make for the same price as race face. They are mainly just for descents so don't have to be too ventilated but it would be good. They have to be hard-wearing, long lasting and offer good protection and be secure

P.S sorry added the option of troy lee because just remembered they're in my price bracket and they are a good innovative design by the sounds of things.Sorry I can't change the poll options cos its started so just leave a message in your post please
Thanks, Yukon Lad

I don't trust Dainese stuff personally, not so much because of the MTB gear but because of the company's approach as a whole... their motorbike leathers are all image, not enough performance. They admitted a while back that they use weaker stitching because it looks better for instance, but bike gear is safety kit not fashion wear. Very poor. And expensive too. Does not reflect well.
I've never met a bit of 661 gear I don't like, on the other hand.Uncompromising extremist0 -
i prefer race face to dainese but i would rather go with 6610

yep, ithought about 661 and was thinking about a pair of racelites but people say they move about too much and when i asked on here about the race pads which are twice the price i was told that for what i wanted them for, general trail descents edging towards easy downhill they were too big and cumbersome and not that well ventilated

i use kyle strait 661 knee pads and they dont effect my pedalling and are ventilated0
-
yep, but am looking at shin and knee because i am getting flat pedals with proper pins and even with cheap pedals and forged pins i have taken a few chunks out of my shin.
I have also bashed my shin on rocks and hurt it when i've come off and because it is an area with little fat or muscle on it it is rather painful

RaceFace again here. Again, having had Dainese motorbike kit, it's "all mouth and no trousers".
Can't fault the RaceFace stuff, but beware that it does come up a touch on the small size - if you think you'll need a medium, get a large.0 -
thanks, will probably have a look at the race face cos the troy lee ones have some sizing problems and the race face ones look better, does anyone know a shop that sells race face rally fr in cumbria so i can try them on
