If he can climb over Genting highlands........

What a great race Langkawi is... When I lived there I would go to see the final two stages each year. The penultimate day usually finishes up at Genting (which in terms of gradient and length makes it into the top 50 climbs in the world ). The killer factor is the 34 C heat with 98% humidity.

Every year all the European guys have a party in a rather "nice" nightclub in downtown Kuala Lumpur on the eve of the final day and after the Genting stage. Kinda ridicules Stephen Roche's saying that Pro riders couldnt even eat a fluffy bun all year...

    Happy New Year all :-)

  • The Iranian climbers may give eveyone a hard time with Genting back this year.

Savio is bound to surprise us with at least 3 South American climbers that no-one has ever heard of before. They'll then come to Europe win all the mountain stages in Giro and subsequently disappear off the face of the planet.

Did it go up Genting the year he won?

I usually enjoy watching, mainly because of the Genting / Cameron Highlands. Stage races without any proper climbs always seem a real let down.

One of Savio's Colombians won, just ahead of Tommy D, who was already in yellow:
