Pretty Terrible Day....

I was biking to work this morning through the park and a guy waved me over off the path, asking me to help him. He was pretty hysterical - he said something to me which I didn't hear and told me to come quickly.
He lead me through a fence to a wooded corner. it took a few seconds to hit me exaclty what ws there - there was a young man hanging from a tree, with a noose round his neck. We went to see if we could do anything but it was pretty obvious there was nothing we could do. The guy was already on his phone and an ambulance and police cars turned up remarkably quickly. I had my details and an informal statement taken. The whole thing left me pretty shook up - I was glad I had work to take my mind off the incident.

I'm feeking OK now, not sure how well I'm going to sleep tonight though.

  • Sorry to hear about this morning. That's a real $hitty way to ruin a ride and start the day :(

Unfortunately there's loads more suicides over Xmas and Newyear. I've seen quite a few through work. I sometimes feel sad and angry about them but more often now I feel bad because they don't bother me as much as they did. I feel that I should be upset. At work we all have an odd sense of humour that gets us through stuff like this.

    Very nasty.

Two mates witnessed someone jumping off Clifton Suspension Bridge and saw the guy's final look of despair - they needed counselling for quite some time.

Hope you are okay - that is a horrible pre Christmas thing to witness.
  • I kinda know how you feel bud ive witnessed a seven year old boy playing tig with his mates down a main road and he ran right in front of a single decker bus, took out the screen and was dragged under it and under both front and rear wheels, his scream and the look of horror and pain on his face still bothers me to this day tbh.

Unfortunately we sometimes see or witness things that we really would rather not have done, i feel for ya bud but look at it this way...

Tis christmas and youre fine and healthy, you have your mates and family so youre doing really well in comparison to some so enjoy what youve got and try not to dwell on events and sights that are not quite what you would like to see and are behind you and look forward to tomorrow.

  • Thats terrible Blackspur. I can't imagine how I'd feel seeing that, very strange as you never expect to see it.

And guys theres a few comments in here that are a bit off-side, I get the whole humour thing, like if you've been here for a while you start to get s strange sense of humour, but to read the thread, then post s-h-i-t like that is a bit wrong. But then again thats only my opinion, and yours is probably a bit different.

guys, i wouldnt be too worried about the responses from the few.

they are supposed to be incendiary and a taste of what the original sandbox was like. those who enjoy it can go to ukmb.net and join the fun. they have some interesting arguments but for the most part, its not my cup o' tea.

making comment about their responses only makes them happier...........
