Have a look at the Chiltern Classics reliability rides series from late Jan to early March:

  • I've heard that the people who ran the Burgess Hill Rumble are organizing an event around March-time.

Last year it was very well run and apart from the heavy and constant rain it was an excellent day.

I dunno if you consider this close ot London, however, you can a train down easily as it's on the Brighton mianline.

If you missed out on the Hell of the Ashdown, you should do a very similar ride on Sunday 8th February 2009 - the Old Portlians Reliability Ride. 100Km and 68Km over hilly Kent countryside. It starts at Halstead Village Hall, Halstead, Kent at 9am. Sydenham Wheelers also organise a reliability ride and try Googling Invicta Grimpeur for details of a hilly ride in March.
Bigfoot based at Bromley in Kent are out every Saturday morning at 8.15 for 40 and 50+ miles training runs into the Kent/Surrey countryside.

  • Try the Twickenham CC Surrey Rumble leaving from Cobham on 1st March...
17 years commuting up and down the King\'s Road and i still don\'t get faster...
  • I'll be doing the burgess hill rumble. Should be pretty easy to get to from london fidbod as burgess hill is on the victoria brighton line.
  • SE London reliability trials, etc

Four SE London reliabilities, plus the rebranded ‘Hell of the Ashdown’.
