Hello everybody
I am on the lookout for some help
Is there anyone out there that would know about the size of helmets?
I mean the size of the shell of a helmet.
For i have just received a new Giro Xen helmet (Large) it fits my head fine but the shell of the helmet looks a bit big on my head.
would anyone know if the size of the shell on medium sized helmet is smaller than a large sized one?

Trust me its supposed to look like that.

I tried tons and finally went with a Met Kaos which looked just ok.

You will never get a cool looking helmet.

I have tried different makes of helmets for years
and i would have to agree.
If you want to keep your head from splitting open you just have to go for a ride
with what looks like a mushroom on your head.

My MET veleno D helmet in white looks cool. People have mixed opinions about it though.

Only way to get the right size is to try them on.

My black Giro Xen looks cool I think
  • You are probably being paranoid and your helmet looks fine.

I have a silver Giro Xen and it looks good.
  • They look better than they used to! A good helmet should look like some kind of biomechanical alien squatting on your brain. Or at least a cheaper one that pretends to be.
    Welcome, to my bonesaw!

My head is massive *ahem* and I used to wear an XL Exodus that looked like a bin lid. I was pleasantly surprised to find a large Xen was a great fit and although I've not head-butted anything with it, it carries the scars from a few mis-judged overhanging branches THWACK !

    I wouldn't ride without it.
  • My Giro Xen has that 'mushroom' look too, but is very comfortable. I chose the correct size indicated on the website and it fits good, but yes, the outer shell does look bigger than I expected.
