1982 Raleigh Europa 12, in the process of being converted to fixed wheel. My initial response was to give it a good clean and rebuild it but it was well shagged.

A somewhat different class though Pete, can't really mention them in the same sentence

A gift, I had to extract it from a load of festering rubbish and bin bags. The owner even lent me a spanner to get it in the car.
  • But not in as bad condition as this, seen on the pier at Coney Island

I decided to leave it there.................

It would have been interesting to see what could be salvaged.

Nowt wrong with Salvage.I think its great fun finding an old bike in a skip or at the tip.Paid a fiver for an old Dawes a few weeks ago.Load of useful parts for my main projects.Frame was a gas pipe model so it has been returned to the tip for recycling. My best most recent gift was a late 1950's Mercian. That said I think the handle bar stem is well seized. :x
