Were you aware for example that giving you're credit card details to Paypal gives them the right to take money from you're bank account whenever they want? print.

In fairness they do tell you..... :)

nothing fair about Paypal. You'l find out if things go wrong sometime. Paypay removed 750.00 from my Paypal account kept it for 6 weeks without answering my letters and phone calls the finaly arbitrarily awarded the money to purchaser of a laptop .
Never got the laptop back or my money . The buyer of my laptop wrote to ebay and said he had dismantled the laptop put it back together and then it wouldn't work

Because they could trace my girlfriends paypal account to mine they froze her account too and she lost her money .
When people say they have never had trouble with Paypal I just nod and smile. Its just a question of time

Ha thats nothing. £79 was removed from my account. My account, my wifes and my sons accounts were closed. They refused to respond to my emails. A year later the police turn up to remove all our compuiters - had it not been for the copies of the emails I might have gone down for child porn

Two things you never buy on ebay..... laptops and mobile phones. They have recently changed the payment system to mimic escrow. I'll never forgive them for not responding to my mails though.....

My 'puter freezes every time I get to the front page because of this advert. And no, it's not a steam-powered dinosaur. It's a Dell precision 390 with Core Duo processor. Still gets held up by the ad loading, and it wooshes every 30-odd secs regardless (the ad, not the PC).

Please do something about it. It's driving me nuts!

so does mine its very annoying to have to keep switching my PC off and rebooting in order to continue using it.

I don't know if its because I use Firefox pop up blocker or because I haven't got Adobe Flash 10 installed (so I can view all those fantastic ads not) or what it is but its very irresponsible.
When the screen locks up ,everytime my mouse moves the water in the advert moves . I can't close the page I can't close firefox. I can't even do a ctrl alt del !
I have to hold the off button down

It's quite probable that it's a bug between Flash player and Firefox.
I've seen quite a few people complain about it. Try updating or rolling back either, both seem to have been fixes in the past.

The fact it's not affecting all of us is a pretty good indication that it's probably not a fault in this site.

I think it is a fault with the animation on this site because I have never had this problem with any other site and I visit hundreds a day. I call into 10 forums which I have tabbed .
Its very frustrating just like a virus.
Thanks for your advice anyway . I'll modify my comments as it seems a bit ott now that I've calmed down a bit .

So why have so few people pointed it out? I can't seem to replicate it and I'm viewing the same site as you are.
It's entirely plausible that the advert on this page makes use of the feature in flash that is buggy, and none of the other sites do. But that is not a bug on this site, it is a bug in Flash player.
It should not be possible to create a flash animation capable of crashing a browser. If, as you suggest, it is possible to, that is a bug in the flash player.
Its very frustrating just like a virus.
    It's neither self-propagating nor particularly damaging. I don't think it's a virus.
