What sort of clothing? Various sales around at the moment. Decathlon do cheap cycle clothing and Aldi and Lidl occasionally have very cheap stuff in. DHB (at Wiggle) is a well regarded low price brand.

I wear Madison Pursuit Shorts and jacket for the autumn months, not too pricey but very decent quality and pretty clever stuff like adjustable waists, inner shorts, stretchy cuffs on the wrists to prevent water getting in - available from CRC.

I'm on DBH water resistant troos, cheap breathable T's that you can get from Decathalon or Ebay and a decathalon softshell jacket. Really - check the places Super mentioned. Though it is cheaper to go naked and you won't soak up as much water... Avoid cotton like the plague.
