fitting rear internat hub gears to a globe centrum sport

hey i've just bought a Specialized Globe Centrum Sport,
And i feel its lacking a bit dude to being a single speed.
i've been looking into getting a rear hub, maybe a nexus or something similar,
is this a, possible? and b, a good idea?
Also any ideas on price for getting a wheel made for it?

    I've just bought an SRAM P5 hub, with wheel and tyre ready built on ebay, so hopefully it'll solve the problem, anyone know what fittings etc i need to get this working?

    can you cancel it?

    the hub is not wide enough, there is no disc mount.....

    OK TBH i can find no info on the IG-3 hub or the current one fitted in your bike But as it is a disc hun i would put the width of the hub at 135mm most geared hubs are narrower.
    the P5 hub can come with and without a built in coaster brake......

    Aparrently it comes with a built in drum brake,
    if its no good i'll just sell it on,
    i'm not going to start making any crazy mods just to get some gears, i might just bite the bullet though and take the bike into the local shop and see what they can do?

    Without wanting to sound too daft,
    If i was to fit the new wheel, with the geared hub, as it has the brake built in, can't i just remove the disc break from the back and use the drum brake?
    i'm still waiting for the bits to turn up, oh the joys of ebay!

    only if the hub is the same width. and if the brake arm can be mounted safely to the chainstay.
