Beginner question about headset bearing?

Apologies if this has been answered somewhere before,
I need to change the bottom sealed cartridge bearing on my Trek 6000, the one that sits at the top of the fork. Its on a Rockshox Recon Race fork if that makes any difference.
Do i need to swap it for another Bontrager one or will any cartridge bearing do a long as it i the same size? Also what is that size!

    well the bearing needs to have all the same dimensions.

    so see what it says on the bearing and replace.

    Thanks, i assume if it take the fork off it'll be stamped on the bearing somewhere what ts dimensions are? Sorry if this is all tediously obvious stuff :roll:
