Can anyone recommend the best ones to get?

I need some for MTB and road riding over winter. Want to spend about £50 tops.

Suggestions please?

You want a set without a pad, that way you wear your padded shorts underneath and you can wear the tights for a few rides before washing them. Wiggle have unpadded Castelli Primos on sale for exactly £50. Buy me some while you're at it. ;)

On an MTB I just use leg warmers with baggies, less hassle than bib tights. I use bib tights on the road though (with pad) and would highly recommend Specialized ones (they do a few different models).

I've got some DHB earnleys from Wiggle, 3/4 length they're comfy and cheap, think I paid about £30 for them

Another thumbs up for the DHB bibtights, great value.
  • Hmm, I've some Aldi £8, absolutely superb for the price.

The pad isn't as comfy as the one in my Endura shorts (normal, not bib), but I can happily spend 8 hours in them and be comfortable. The price is amazing for what you get, I just gave them a go and they turned out to be way above expectations.
