Shameless promotion I guess  But I've just started a blog about me cycling in Devon. In the end I hope to build up some diaristic ramblings that may be useful for people visiting North Devon with their bikes. Cheers. Let me know if you think it's rubbish - I do worry that blogs can be a bit of a conceit :?:

My favourite part of the world! I holiday in Woolacombe every year.
The climb out of Ilfracombe through Slade and Lee is superb.

    Nice blog (bookmarked) 8)

  • That's great, thanks for posting - I'll follow this blog. Fiancee's family (that will be the wife's family come Saturday!) have a cottage in Georgeham that we visit regularly - have often brought the mtb but never the road bike, that may change now...

very hilly round there though :(

Yeah - I ride a fixed a lot and have to be careful of routes! I've grown to love the hills but there's still the very steep one (Challacombe Hill) out of Woolacome heading towards Georgeham that I haven't dared try yet
(Just calculated it: half a mile at an average 14.5% gradient)

  • Fixed? Round there?!

I've just bought a single-speed/fixed bike for commuting here in London, haven't ridden it fixed yet....but it will be the fully-geared road bike that comes with me next time....
