Noob question re: fork travel

Hi everyone,
I test rode a Rockhopper a few days ago and really liked it. I'm due to have a go on the Pro version in a few days' time to try and figure out if it's worth the extra, but looking at the specs I noticed that you only get 80mm of travel on the fork vs 100mm on the other models.
I'm sure I'm being daft, but I can't help but feel like I'm being 'robbed' of 2cm I have 2 questions:
1) Am I just being an idiot?
2) Can you extend the range of travel of a Reba SL fork, or would it always be 80mm?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

SOme models can be changed. If they are all travel versions.
No idea why Specialized are doing this.0 -
Reba SLs can be altered internally by removing spacers, however this is a specialist job best entrusted to an expert. I would add that the Reba SL is a top notch fork, even with 85mm travel, and very light. It depends what you want the bike for. 80mm is often preferred for XC racing, as apposed to 100mm+ for all mountain.
I recently increased the travel on mine (2006 Reba SL) from 85 to 100 mm, it will go to 115mm but I didn't want that much.
Marv.What tree ? ...........
