Hi,

Has anyone got experiences of Merida full suspension bikes, namely the Trans-Mission TFS 500-D (basically the same frame as last "year's" AM 800-D). Here's a link: http://www2.merida-bikes.com/en_GB/Bikes.Detail.7

At £1000, it is on my shortlist of cycle2work bikes (along with Genesis Core 30 & Giant X 5).

Basic specs:
SHOCK SR Epicon Lockout
FORK SR RAIDON LOD 120
BRAKES F/R Hayes Stroker Ryde 180/180 mm
CHAINWHEEL Shimano M442 Octa 44A-32-22
DERAILLEURS F/R Shimano Deore/Shimano XT Top Normal
FREEWHEEL Shimano CS-HG50-9 11-32
RIMS Mavic XM117 disc
SHIFTER F/R Shimano Deore rapidfire

  • Guy I ride with has either that bike or one very similar, he really rates it... And for a rookie rider, he's damn quick on it too!

Plus some darker skinned riders from london will rate it as 'gangsta' should they run into you at a trail park..

Does look a nice bit of kit though

Not tried the full sus but have the '09 Trail 700-D hardtail on order, had a demo on the '08 850-D and it just felt right. I'd definetly suggest trying one out first.
