Chain rubbing on chain ring. Spacer needed?
I recently did a bike build with Dura Ace 9 spd components. I'm very impressed with precision of gear change and especially how quiet all the running gear is. It made me more critical of noises on my other bike, which was shop built with Dura Ace 10 spd.
When on the smallest cog at the back and the small chain ring at the front, there is noise from the chain, and I'm pretty sure it's because it's rubbing against the larger chainring. Is it possible I need a spacer on the bottom bracket to bring the chain rings out and align them better with the cassette? This is with Dura Ace 10 spd, double chain ring.

I would say that is normal, I would never ride on 39*11 or at the other extreme 53*23 as it is nigh on impossible to avoid a touch of chainrub0

as said not a normal gear combo to use so rubbing will happen.
Really you should not use the cogs at opposites except in an emergency
