cleats adaptor

im currently using mtb shimano mt20 shoes with shimano m520 pedals, i would like to buy some road shoes shimano ro98, does anyone know if they will work with my m520 pedals, i think i can get an adaptor sh85 has anyone tried this.

    Some road shoes take those cleats directly too - just have a look at the sole holes - if they just have the 3 holes then you'll have to try the adaptor (never tried that myself) but if they have the 2 slots in the middle too then you can just put your cleats in there.

    The only downside is they wear pretty fast if you walk in them as you are standing right on the cleats all the time.

    I just looked up the adaptor and I'm not sure I'd want that on the bottom of my shoe - it looks like it would increase the stack height quite a bit.

    I'd rather have some shoes like these with the proper holes:

    The bike shop near me has a pair of shoes in the window that look just like the ro98 but wit SPD holes rather than SPD-L.
