Hey everyone!
Picking up a GT Avalanche 1.0 on Wednesday and being a newbie and not knowing anything about bikes etc i thought it would be a good idea to get myself a maintenance book to not only how to perform routine things but also a book that explains what part of a bike is what and what it does, in plain and simple English!
Can anyone recommend such a book??
Thanks for your help

the parktools and the sheldon brown (links below) are where i would start.
Parktools first, and then maybe get a book."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I was looking for a book like this but I've never been let down by the online guides yet, especially Park Tools.Uncompromising extremist0

Online guides can be great! you just have to make sure that you read a few of the same problem to make sure you know that others are doing the same.
Alternativly ring up the shop your getting it from, at the shop i work in we dont mind if anyone rings up for advice. Even if you havent bought a bike from us! so i doubt they will not give you advice.0
