I had some City Jets on my MTB for commuting. No problems fitting and removing - that is likely to be due to certain combinations of exact wheel rim / tyre bead size between brands (I've heard the same about some tyres being a real b@stard on certain makes of road wheel).

They're good but not great - quite quick rolling, quite grippy, fair-to-middling protection. If you want better puncture proofing go for something else e.g. Specialized All Condition Pro /Armadillo or Schwalbe Marathon, and I would stay away from Conti Sport Contacts. If your route is 100% paved get the narrowest tyre you can (and appropriate tubes).
Aspire not to have more, but to be more.
