Hi

I just came off my bike and hit the front carbon forks pretty hard but they seem fine just a bit of paint has chipped away.
Do you think i should replace them or just paint them over?

Oooer .... you really should get them checked over by someone who knows i.e. LBS.

You can never tell with Carbon and you REALLY don't want to 'face plant' doing 30mph on your next ride.

You also need to be careful applying solvent (of any kind) to carbon as that also can do odd things to it. :?

Sorry to make it seem worse than it might be .... but I'd get it checked. :(

    It's great to be .....
  • Well its going to the LBS on saturday i cant ride it till then as im at school so it doesent matter too much

Should i look at getting it replaced with Aluminium?

I'd stick with carbon if I were you.

Aluminium isn't indestructable and can suffer non-obvious (i.e. damage not clearly visible) failures as well.
