Hi people,

I've been looking at getting a bike for sometime now and looking through the latest MBUK saw the review on the Merida Matts TFS 850 Trail-D.

Firstly, just wondered if any of you have experienced the bike?
And secondly, I'd like to buy it through the Ride2Work scheme and would like to know if there is anywhere local (Guildford, Surrey) that sells it or you could recommend.

Haven't bought a bike for years so any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

glaysher1985.

  • wotcha.

i've been looking online for this and distributor's / vendor's marketing seems a little thin on the ground. That said...

you can find the main uk distributor here: http://www2.merida-bikes.com/en_GB/GB

on p.37 of mbuk sept (issue 228) there's a merida advert, albeit for the 96 full suspension range. your closest dealer is here: http://atomicbike.co.uk/bikes/hardtail- ... -2008.html

    otherwise here... http://www.bike-art.com/trails.asp

try giving these a ring too... http://www.racecouk.com/ as they are listed.

    All others are further north.

    Hope this helps.
  • Hey, thanks, that's a great help.

Atomic Bike isn't too far so that could be an option to go and try one out.

I was hoping Evans Cycles might stock them but called them Sunday afternoon and said they don't. There's also a local bike shop called 'Beyond Mountain Bikes' but unfortunately they don't either, but they do accept the Ride2Work vouchers which could help if I decide on something else....

    Cheers again.

I recently bought the 550-D, model down from the 850-D. wrote about my thoughts here:

They are good bikes, don't think you would go far wrong with one!
  • Top review, thats really helpful.

I'm hoping my work here will be signing up to the Ride2Work scheme - I mentioned it a couple of days ago and the response seems pretty promising, so fingers crossed!
