Hi Guys,

Just ordered a full set of juicy ultimates from Merlin Cycles. Got a great price for the front rear combo but rather curious as to why the front and back are 185mm discs.

On my current setup Juicy Fives the front is 180mm the back 160mm. Merlin said id have to pay for them seperatly (ie more cash!) if i wanted 160mm back with the 185mm front.

My question is wether having 185mms on the back has any downsides and if there could be something funny going on in the deal as Avids website says they dont even do a 185mm rear disc!?

Cheers guys

well you can just use your current rotors and adaptors.

bigger discs = more power and modulation

yes avid do do 185mm rears

Got a problem with these Juicy Ultimates

Upon fitting the rear brake i noticed the brake lever was lose compared to the front brake lever so went to gently tighten the hex screw inside the lever and the screw just fell out.

Upon trying to refit the screw it became apparent the thread within the lever itself was damaged.

Is there anything i can do about this other than send them back to Merlin Cycles where i purchased them?

Just wondering as when i phoned them up they didnt exactly seem eager to help!

    Cheers guys

send them back not worth messing with them.
