ok, this is rather embarassing but here goes, please do not snigger!

I have just bought a helmet, specialised something or other, charmonix is it?

Anyway, it is in the large size, 59-63cm i think.

Trouble is, i must have a enourmous head as it is perched on top and frankly looks ludicrous, I cannot go out in Coed y Brenin next week, i will be laughed out of snowdonia.

Is that the largest measurements available? I have since looked in Evans City Branch in London and that was the largest size that I could see.

Its almost enough to make me not bother, it just doesn't come down my head enough

Can anyone recommend anything or is that it?
Cheers All

My old helmet was the correct size for me but did the same thing, was weird suddently having a 6inch forhead!
Have you tried a different type of helmet, Met for example?
I have a Met Duello now and it looks, and feels, a whole lot better.

Your right I'm wetting myself with the thought!!!

On a serious note though Papasmurfs right, helmet manufacturers all make differant shapes with the same 'sizing', the MET Testagrossas' made for big heads though so try one of them if you can, or get a p!ss pot!

Helmets are a must buy from a shop if you are not just replacing and existing helmet.

Sorry get on the phone to your loacal shops and see who has BIG helmets in stock and then get down there.

and don't think that just because one specilized helmet will not fit that there is no point in trying others.
I have found that different models from the same manufacturer can fit completely differently.

I have a supersized noggin too, and I've found that the Giro helmets seem to fit me best.

I'd just reiterate the advice above and tell you to go to a shop and try on as many as you can. That's the only way to tell for sure :)

Hi. I have a big head, and I tell everyone about it.

I got a testagrossa and no longer look ridiculous.
  • Just ride without one... worst that can happen is you'll DIE

I only wear a helmet when I'm downhilling, if I'm out doing some XC I really can't be bothered with one :P I have a really sweaty head and wearing a helmet I'll literally be dripping within 5 minutes of hitting the pedals :D

I have a big head and went for the MET helmet, it was the biggest one I could find at the time, the number 64 rings a bell?
