Right

Albeit that I'll no doubt get loads of abuse (at least some of them amusing though hopefully), how the hell do you calculate your FCN?

So far I'm 10 pages into the link you sent Attica, thanks for that!

Citrus Skies starts me on 2 (Shaved (like a lady) Roadie), but the FCN quoted on the Bike Radar post starts me on 4.

I'll go with the 4 but adjust as follows, let me know if this is right...

Shaved (like a lady) Roadie: 4 (-1 for clipless pedals) FCN: 3
    Roadie FCN: 3

hehe.. you'll have to read on. There is a kinda on-going reclassification. I think roadies got elevated as certain ladyshavers were complaining about singlespeeders being as easy as a prostitute in the redlightdistrict.

Ker-rist! I didn't realise this was going to get so complicated. I might have to leave the other 45 odd pages until later this evening! Methinks a spot of work might be judicious before the boss spots me!

    Food Chain Number...

Your place in the great Cosmic Food Chain of who you will allow yourself to be dropped by and those that you would rather die than see riding away from you......

If on your last dregs of energy a dude does you on 6 K of Carbon nothing with legs like granite and an Aero helmet going at 30 mph - you might say - "Oh well that's fair enough then"

If however some dude passes you on a rusty full sus MTB you'd bleed from your ears rather than let it go.......

Commuters keep a secret score as to their wins and losses. It's a game.

Apologies for failing to grasp this but with a FCN of 1, how do i get myself some points?

By overtaking people in a similar category? Is that correct?

If i am overtaken by someone much further down the chain, do i move into negative points? Is it permissable to throw a hissy fit and throw your bike away a la David Millar?

(Roadie with hairy legs (like a man) / SPD's / Team Kit / Power Meter/GPS).

Love it. Best thread on bikeradar no doubt.

I'm 3 but don't think there's anyone playing The Game out here in the sticks. I might do a weekend hunting trip to London....

    AGGHH!

So on the Facebook page there is also the rule of -1 for coloured tyres, so does that mean my blue walled PRO3s take me to FCN 1? That just cannot be right!

If it is I'm switching back to greys (whilst running home and crying to my Mum obviously)

Roadies and Singlies get to predate each other....

However - there's a "honesty box" working with you and your ego. Is that hairy roadie really on a par with you? What do the subtle indicators suggest? Is his drive train cleaner than the inside of your dishwasher? Are those Oakleys? Do they fit and "up for it".

Your inner respect-o-meter will let you know when it's on. In addition you know when you been done and you've let yourself down.

The biggest rule of the game is to play safely - the red mist should be guarded against.... as the advert says "Power is nothing without control"......

    Play safe.

    Alternative checklist questions;

    (a) Are you actually called Tim?
    (b) Have you ever been a BBC Radio 1 employee?
    (c) Has your Dad ever used the signature "Petriburg" rather than his proper surname?

Not that I was thinking of any broadcasters in particular.

Tourist Tony's sig used to be "If I had a stalker, I would hug it and kiss it and call it George...or Dick".

I don't think that you're Tourist Tony though, he was an old bloke with a beard.

So, you want a stalker, Huh?
