Juicy 7, should it be doing that??

I have just put a set of Juicy 7's on my Stumpy and I noticed that on a ride yesterday fluid was 'bubbling' out of the tiny hole next to where the 'Dot 5.1' is stamped when I was braking.

What would have caused this?

To put this into perspective I wasnt putting the brakes under a lot of stress as it was a pretty flat ride and it was pretty much happening as soon as I jumped on the bike.

Do I have contaminated fluid or a leak? (I couldnt see a leak other than the hole which I assumed is there for a purpose). The lever was firm and didnt seem to soften though I didnt use them much so I may be missing something.

I dont have a manual to check as they came from a 'donor' bike.

Any advice is as always appreciated! :)

    new or used?

there can be fluid left on top of the diaphragm so normal and will stop.

    diaphragm may be split.....

manuakl on srams webby download it.

Basically new with about 20 hours worth of use so it sounds like the diaphragm may be split

They came form a new bike purchase where I swapped out the brakes after a few rides.

Cheers for the heads up Nick Ill check out Srams website.

could it also just be a bit of water got in there?

I had this on my hopes after i washed it - for the next couple of miles riding I got water bubbling out of the vent.

EDIT: To clarify this was a very small amount of water so if you are getting noticeable amounts of liquid out then ignore me.

I thought that could be a possibility too but the bike hasnt been out in the rain or washed in quite some time

May very well be a split bladder according to the Sram website.

Guess there is only one way to find out now!
