Threads like this make me feel so old.

First I don't own (nor want) an ipod.

Second - I've never heard of any of the songs, though I've vaguely heard of some of the bands.

Perhaps those 2 reasons are connected :)

Oh come on Geoff, the Carter Family were active from 1927-1956, that's pretty much your era, right ;)

You're not helping, Karen. I'm just twice your age :(

So you see Biodino you're almost right. I left school in 1956 but the first pop song I remember is 'Mares eat oats and does eat oats but little lambs eat ivy' so you see it's all lies that the old songs were any better than the current batch ;)

Carter Unstopabble Sex Machine - Sherriff Fatman
    Neil Diamond - Mr Bojangles

In all honestly, I thing those three songs would have been first out if Id played my Ipod by rating as well! Remarkable random selection.
    :D
Mine: Esferá featuring Rosy Argoñes - Mad Zoo
Il Brindiso...Il vino, Placido Domingo from the Three Tenors 2
Needle and the Damage Done - Neil Young
    Fitter....healthier....more productive.....
  • Something's got to give - Beastie Boys
Tour de France Etape 3 - Kraftwerk (honestly  )
Cut the Cake - Average White Band

Can anybody explain why my ipod keeps playing Etapes 1,2 and 3 in the reverse order?!
