Gusset bottom bracket

My son has bought a identiti 666X frame which I believe has a Gusset BMX bottom bracket (Pigmy I think).

The bottom bracket seems loose and so I need to tighten it.

From the outside all I can see is a large cover with a hex, which I take it covers the bottom bracket. If so are these threaded ? what size is the hex ? I know I can measure it but I guess it's non-standard knowing the way of these things and I need to take tools home.

Is there a special tool needed to tighten the bottom bracket shells when I have got these covers off ?

Is there anything else I need to know about before I go and strip threads?

Thanks for your help :)

    are the cranks 4-jeri?

yes the big hex tightens the bearings. the cups just press in (headset press works well) and hit out. see park tools.
