What's geometry all about?

basically my question is the topic title. I was looking at the spec for a marin rocky ridge and it says its got 'trail geometry'. What does this mean? I noticed it had more of a sloping top tube.....

Also what does 'slack' geometry mean?

    I think that trail geometry means that the geometry is sutd to trail riding. Geometry is the angle and lenths of the frame. Someone correct me if im wrong.

    head tube angle vertical (zero) is steep/sharp.... headtube angle horizontal (90) is Slack.

    ah thanks guys, so i'm guessing that trail geometry is more on the sack side (i'm guessing this because the marin has long forks...)?

    Well it all depends on how they measure it.

    in that the longer the fork the slacker the angles. BUT as the fork compresses the angles do not want to get too steep.
