is there an attachment to turn a normal rear wheel hub into a hub that'll take a disc rotor?? Surely there must be a disc mount that screws onto the axle?? Or do I have to fork out for a new hub??

    You have to fork out for a new hub, but even worse you may find a new wheel is cheaper than having your existing wheel rebuilt.

    there is a (was) an adapter that came out when discs first appeared that bolted onto the disc side spoke flange. This then required a wheel unbuild, the part, half a set of new spokes and a rebuild.

    just buy a new wheel. (Or new hub and new spokes.... oh hang on a new wheel would be more cost effective), and ebay the old wheel.
