BMX chainring alignment??

I've just ordered a new bmx chainring for my dmr due to my old one being worn out too much to be used. When i get my new one, is there any tips anyone has that you have that helps to align the chainring? Cheers for any help!

    why was the old one poorly aligned?

    add or remove some axle spacers if possible.

    what crankset and bb type?

    Not sure what the crankset is, just the orignal cranks that came with the bike "cro-mo 3 piece bmx crank". My old chainring was off centered and had warped round the middle (i think :? )
