routes brackley / banbury ???

HI !

Moving from Germany to Brackley, Northants in September.

Is there any good MTB routes around ??

    Well first the bad news................. :(

    There really aren't any good local MTB routes/rides around the Brackley area. :(:cry: What there are is all basically chewed up bridle path stuff and you are almost guaranteed to puncture on every ride due to the Hawthorn bushes and the detritus left by the farmers who seem to annialate these in the annual hedge trimming fest! :evil:

    For good MTB rides you'll need a car to get there first because you either need to head north to the Peaks, West to the Cotswolds, East to Woburn and Chicksands or south to the Chilterns. :shock:

    Now the good news :P ..........if you have a roadbike that is. :wink: .............there is a very good cycling club in Bicester http://www.bmcc2000.com

    They are mainly focused on road riding activities of all kinds but they also have a small off road section too. :arrow:

    There are club runs every Saturday and Sunday morning which are run at a reasonable pace and are disciplined too. Give 'em a go if you can! 8)

    Meeting place each Saturday and Sunday is the far end of Bicester North Railway Station car park. Be there just before 9am. Club runs depart just after!

    The club has several members who reside in Brackley BTW! 8)
