Sports Cafe = tourist trap. You may find the cycling shown on a TV in a corner, but with the sound turn down and anyway there'll be music or some overpowering commentary from a tennis or football match being transmitted on numerous larger screens round the bar. The TVs round the place are just a decoration, a gimmick to get you in there buying their overpriced drink. The lease on that real estate must be astronomical – being distracted by being able to concentrate too much on the broadcasts would cause a reduction in profitable booze consumption.

I think few central London pubs have a TV – they don't need to lure in punters with footie or other sport coverage unless it is some special occasion, as there is plenty of passing trade from tourists and afterworkers.

What's the name of the Italian bar-cafe in Soho whose proprietor is a cycling fan and has a TV on during the races? Duffers used to mention it occasionally in his commentary.

Bar Italia? Do yourself a favour and dont bother. The most overpriced coffee in London served by people who must have been instructed to be as rude as they can. Average at best food and if you go in the evening then you will be standing on the pavement outside "sampling the wonderful atmosphere" unable to actually drink any coffee as you wont get served.

I wouldn't be too worried, Eurosport will probably bugger it all up anyway
then again, it'll probably be replaced with women's beach volleyball so it's not all bad! 8)
