Hi All
This is another What Bike request, but with a slight twist... Basically I have decided what Bike I want but I am now not able to get the bike because there are no stock for the frame size I require...
I have been looking at the Marin Elderidge Grade, for £999 but will require the 22" frame because I am 6ft 5", having been told by multiple shops they are unable to get that size frame in stock, I am now stuck in what I should get...
I also looked at the Specialized Rockhopper Pro, but they were unable to get those in the size I require...
Basically, my problem is I want to have a bike which will let me do Trails and Cross Country Runs, but also require something that I can ride on the road, and potentially use for a 60 Mile Charity Bike Ride in July...
I have a budget of £1000, but would like to pay less than that... So any ideas??
Cheers
Charlie

have you tried here, they seem to have some in stock (or at least its showing as being)0 -
The Merlin Malt 4 or Rock Lobster Tig Team (both from direct sales firm Merlin Cycles) are two very good alu hardtails which would fit your bill very well.
Or the On-One Scandal, another very well regarded and good value alu hardtail.
You're not short of choice when it comes to standard XC geometry alu hardtails for £1k really.0 -

Ideally wanted a local purchase... as I have been informed that Marin don't give warranty unless the bike is picked up from store (but I don't believe that)0 -
Have you tired contacting ATB Sales? Sounds like none of your dealers are actually that keen on helping you out with getting the size you want so I'd give them a call and make sure the bike is available in the 22"
Marin aren't supposed to be sold over the internet, like Cannondale and a couple of other companies.
Have you looked at the Trek range? They do some good Alu frames that go up to your size. Failing that the Gary Fisher bikes are good for taller types (I'm 6'3" and a Fisher XL is a stretch for me).0 -

That's correct. If you don't buy from their shop of authorised dealer you only get the statutory one year guarantee and you loose the lifetime frame warrenty... go figure :roll:0
