Currently running Truvativ Stylo with a GXP BB. Looking to replace the crankset but every place I go I get told that I'd need to replace the feewheel and chain at the same time (both replaced recently anyway).
What options do I have...do I need a new BB to say run a Raceface or XTR?
All coments welcome!

All new chainsets that run external BBs hcome with the BB anyway.
Its best to replace the chain when getting new chainrings, as a worn chain will eat alloy rings in no time. And a new chain often means new cassette, unless it is only lightly worn.0 -
Cheers supersonic....as I said new chain and new cassette very recently....any advice on a good chain set for aggresive XC?
Thinking of going for something with a bash guard like this:

Just adjust what you have, will be fine. Make sure the mech is the right height though.0

I've bought an FSA motoX from merlin, really cheap and is holding up well, steel axle and pedal inserts mean they are totally bombproof until the bearing wear out. Plus it comes with a poly bashguard that is amazingly thick.0
