Are those calipers the 2004 xt 4 pot hydro. If so do you find them horribly spongy?

They are XT but theyre not 2004. They are quite powerful when theyve been set up right. If they were a bit spongey dont they need to be bled?

Mmmmmmmmmm. Marin quake. Dammit, every time i pop into the marin shop for something daft like brake pads or something, I always end up gawping at the Quake, and trying to rationalise the finance figures to myself for about an hour!

i'm just confused. i see 3? 4? dirt jump style bikes? a lot of those bikes overlap?
if you had a road bike and a commuter instead i could understand it a bit more.

so are there 3 trail hardtails? surely some of the bikes overlap in use though?
i could see the point in loads of bikes if you had say
race xc bikes (hardtail + full sus)
trail bikes (hardtail + full sus)
    freeride
    downhill
    but don't yours overlap?

overlap or not, how do you find time to ride NINE bikes?!
i mean, i have one, and i think i could just about find a use for 3 or 4

Well it depends on what you ride.
    i could have maybe:
    -commute
    -bmx
    -downhill
    -freeride
    -5" trail bike
    -race style xc
    -jump bike

as i ride all those different things regularly.
    I have 3 bikes
    - singlespeed commuting bike for all road stuff,
    - bmx for park, street and dirt jumps
    - a marin quake which covers all mountain bike duties from XC (cwmcarn, glentress etc) to freeride hucks.
  • the pics are great and i under stand the mean for loads of bike i only have one but if you have the money and the reason to have several bikes ten why not

even if the bikes do overlap, so what. if someone owned 5 supercars no one would say, why not sell 4 of em, they all do the same thing.

i'm sure there is a formula for working out the correct number of bikes a man should own, and it basicly means you should have 1 more than you have.

    more bikes for everyone.

    ps, giz a bike, nick
pps. whats the deal with rb, ive never heard of em.
