    Mine has been er, interesting.

Friday I went to an Imp specialist's autojumble (jumble sale for car shit) and came back with £200 quids worth of stuff. Not much of it was mine but bought for other people who couldn't make it there. I came back with new rear lights and indicators, new wing mirror and front sidelight/indicator unit.

    Saturday I fitted said parts.
Wing mirror fell off on the first test drive and got run over by a car going the other way. Bugger.
Saturday night I put the old engine block in the dishwasher. However, I was lazy and didn't clean it at all first so it was covered in crud. This was silly. This was very silly.
When the cycle finished the engine was still covered in crud, but worse, so was the dishwasher. Bugger.
Oh well. I had a wank and left it till the morning.

Sunday morning things started to go seriously wrong.
I was supposed to have gone out to ride some XC with the guys I always used to ride with and hence, ride my new bike for the first time. I arranged to borrow some spds from someone and packed the car. Except I left my helmet. Bugger.
This however turned out to be unimportant when I arrived and managed to sadden myself with my own stupidity.
Upon arrival I got the pedals and started to fit them. However, I managed to fit the left pedal on the right. Somehow it went on straight. "bit stiff" I thought as I used a spanner and forced it on. BUGGER. That was the end of my ride before I even started.
I've managed to save the thread on the crank arm by feeding the pedal in from the opposite side and straightening the thread out. Ho hum

After that it was time to tackle the dishwasher. I scrubbed the trays which came up a bit clean, best I could do really. Then, I was really stupid.
I couldn't find any dishwasher tablets, so, I thought it would be a great idea to chuck some fairy liquid in and some bleach. Put the dishwasher on for an "intensive" cycle and hoped for the best whilst I went and packed my bags to come back to Leeds.
Erm, fairy liquid gets soapy doesn't it? Well when I came back downstairs the kitchen floor was in fact flooded and covered in bubbles :( Bugger.

After a few more hours I managed to get it all cleaned up hopefully enough that Mum won't notice.
Packed bags, packed car and got the fuck out of there before Mum got back from a weekend away and noticed what I'd done.

On the way up to Leeds stopped at Shuttleworth Classic Car Show which was awesome and had an air display next door.
Today been at another classic car show up here at Leeds. Love it.

    Apols for the essay (again)!

I have to say, Mian is exactly as he is on the forum IRL, even telling someone on the 4X that: "The rule is, pics or it didn't happen"

Cap - have you been locked away in a padded cell somewhere?

I spent most of the weekend drinking, didn't look twice at the bike, and I'm the first to moan about the weather saying I can't go out on the bike.

Played GTA 4 a lot, I'm about to do that now actually.
  • All in all a heavy weekend. Every year at uni we have an Old Boys Weekend where all the people who used to live here come up and we get drunk and then have a street party. So we had a bit of a mash up in the Union Friday night, no memory of coming home!

Got up Saturday and went karting. Was awesome, came third overall, my mate Marv was rubbish, he spun at the first corner on all but one lap. It was scary lapping him because you weren't quite sure what he was going to do.
Went into town for a quiet one on the evening, then came back and played poker. Girlfriend gave me her keys so I could stay at hers as I had so many people sleeping at mine, and when she got back at 3 she was wasted.

Sunday was the street party, got up at 11:30, was drinking in the street by 12. We had a bouncy castle and a paddling pool and a BBQ, don't remember anything after about 4, except my girlfriend was in a wet t-shirt competition.

Then headed to a club on the night, it was well sweaty because it was so busy.

Woke up Monday for some hangover golf, got a bit of a tan. Spent the rest of the day trying to recover. Still not feeling great.

Surfing, several MTB rides and the first waterski of the year in the stunning Fal Estuary. Oh and plenty of sun.

So yes, it was a good one :D

athletics. It is the scenario that you try not to go for ages 'cos you think they will call your race and when I came back I didn't have enough time to stretch properly :(
