Ftting child seat to a road bike

Hi

I've posted this in the family bit as well as I wasn't sure which was the most appropriate place. Hello all,

My son is a year now and about to go to nursery for three days each week and I've been tasked with getting him there in the mornings. As the nursery is on route to work I'm keen to get him on the back of my commuting bike, which is a Cannondale R600 road bike.

I spoke to a guy today in the LBS who told me that they didn't stock any seats that would fit the frame because it has no pannier attachements/bolts etc Is this the case? Surely there must be some models that can attach to the tope tube and seat stays/seat post. Any suggestions gratefully received? Roadies must be able to carry their kids too mustn't they?

Neither of the ones I had attached to pannier fixing points, They had a bracket on the 'down tube' (?correct term, please?) between the saddle and bottom bracket.

Maybe your LBS is extremely specialised and doesn't know about kiddy seats, or maybe they employ a numpty.

    BTW - mine came from:
    1. Argos
    2. 'The Journey Centre' - Rotherham.

No probs with either. No2 used to supply these to Argos, so were slightly cheaper.
Argos have the no quibble money back guarantee, if you want to see if it'll fit?
Just checked, they all seem to fit the same way
