Turbo Trainer - Fixie or Gears ?

I have bought an CycleOps Fluid2 Trainer and cannot decide whether to use the Specialized Langster fixie or the Giant SCR2 with gears.
Does anyone have experience of using either fixed or gears with a turbo trainer and are there any benefits one over the other ?

If you have varying resistance use gears.
If your going to ride track, then use fixed with fixed resistance.0 -

If not, you'll need gears to be able to vary the resistance of the effort.
Not sure there is any advantage to fixed over gears on a turbo other than giving you a nice smooth pedal action. I tend to use fixed on my rollers because I find it easier to get started on them on fixed and it's doubly important to stay smooth on rollers.0 -
Nayway why use a fixed? just keep normal bike in one gear
