I want ideas to make my bikes a bit more unique.
All the parts and stuff just seem so 'standard' and I want them to be something a bit special. Paintjobs are out of the questions but any other ideas welcome!

if you want an idea of the parts you can get pimped check out my scott utterly pimped.
also, get hope parts, mainly brakes, uberpimpage to be had there. They'll also do custom laser etching for you on some bits, as well as custom brake rotors.0 -
put links to your bike pics to give us an idea of what is needed0

chainring bolts, jockey wheels, dérailleur bolt, bolt kit, seat clamp, floating rotors, hubs, odi clamps, valve caps, hose guides, qr skewers, v12's with pimp kit, chainrings, chain, spoke nipples, spokes, spacers, stem
i think that is everything,0 -

Used to be so much easier in the 90s with the glut of anodized widgets - DCDs, cog hogs, canti rollers, flex stems, oval chainrings and.... sharkbite pedals!0

Some of those pedals in the basement in the shop along with beartraps (which we still sell). Bloody sharp they are too!"Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0 -
I still use bear traps! Check the Idrive pic out ;-)0

is that the kind of thing found on trials bikes?0

On some yeah! Had them originally on the Zaskar when it was more of a play bike - they must be the toughest pedals out there.0

Back in the day (bout 99) I had a set of Rob Warner DH bear traps - LETHAL!!!0

You need to buy these

Loads of people have asked me about them, they look mint, well pimp-worthy!0 -
Handlebar tassles.
Used to see lots of them but seem to be rarer these days!0 -

Also really cool are spokydokes, or a bit of cardboard clothes pegged to your fork - it makes a great slappy sound as you go along!Proved by testing to be faster than a badger.

My Stumpy is now (as of 15 minutes ago) wearing it's first semi pimp item - A Hope QR seatpost clamp.
I fear this may be the beginning of a pimping frenzy...0 -

im suprised that's the only eyebrow raiser in my new bike style description.0

Well all the rest of the description is sales-speak for " Congratulations, you are an individual and have special skills and needs over and above all other riders and that's why we designed this bike just for you!"
Then again, I could just be being a little cynical!Proved by testing to be faster than a badger.

Perhaps you could learn a few things form this:

well, at least it will match his T-mobile jersey
sorry Andy - couldn't resist!0 -
I think you need to get a colour scheme in mind then pimp it according to that. Hope are quality for colour coded bits; actually they're quality for colour coding pretty much everything they sell.
Also - an air horn. Nobody has a bell on their bike, and I think a big hooter on the bars would look uber special!
Easy,

I don't mean to be funny easy but there is no way in hell I am going to buy matching Hope components and put them on. That is such a cheesy thing to do.0

The idea tempting me at the moment is fitting a Lefty fork to the Anthem. Any opinions?0
