    Welcome HM,

yep Marin fan here too, the make seems to retain quite a high level of loyalty from the people who purchase their bikes.

I very nearly bought an Alpine Trail 06 this year, but decided to upgrade my palisades at the last minute.

91 Palisades has still to be resurrected.

Oh christ don't start them on about their Marins!

If it carries on we'll have to change the forum name, or maybe the WMB Arms could be, What Marin to Buy :lol:

In all seriousness though they are some very nice bikes.

    Hope you enjoy.

I love my indian fire trail and my pine mountain, it just needs some more modern parts for it.

  • cheers guys, sounds like there are a few smart people on here

    my first question 1)

If i was to have a rockshox fork with the 20mm Thru MAXLE what would i need to run my disks, rims etc with it??
i've been offered a great price on a argyle that i'm looking into, because i like to ride with my cousin lots around the jump parks (he's MAD!)

new hub is all really i think. could build your current rim onto it if its in good condition or maybe just buy a whole new wheel.

marin attack trail here and gonna get a marin quake 7.3 next month (both are 2007 models) :)

it's taken cheesey more than 20 hours to notice this post, i am truly amazed.

ride a scott, but love the look of the Indian Fire Trails
  • well the story is:
my dad has a Cannondale f800 Lefty, and it's a medium frame, he doesnt like sitting in an "agresive XC" stance, and is currently being"persuaded" into buying himself a new marin alpine trail, and i can have the f800. i wont sell the northside trail for anything! (too many people on here regret selling their first and favorite bike)

however, i'm not too fond of the single sided lefty, and there would be a rockshox fork finding its way onto the bike...

hmm i'm getting worried. is his marin radar broken?
and is currently being"persuaded" into buying himself a new marin alpine trail, and i can have the f800.

aren't the new marin alpine trails womens bikes? looks pretty girly to me: http://www.marin.co.uk/2008/images/1600/3824.jpg
    :D

leftys are alright forks and you'd have to buy a new hub anyway for "normal" forks

Cheesey, it's a mix of shock, awe and jealousy! :D

Most of us live out our bike and bit dreams vicariously through you. It's not as good as having bought it myself, but reading your joy at each new purchase is nearly as good! It's always good to see someone pick a clear priority, and then just go for it! :D
