So its the first race of the season here in Northern Ireland this sat....
I was looking forward to it, then I got a dose of cold/flu last friday which knocked the life out of me and I haven't been on the bike since last thursday... missed my club's RT too. :-(

Anyhoo... as I'm still not feeling 100% is it worth giving this race a lash this weekend? And if so... am I best trying to get in two hard days on wed/thurs? or just take it fairly easy all week on the bike?
I'm just not sure how to approach it now!

Agree with Aarw..........the season is long enough to put your first race back a couple of weeks. No point making yourself worse and if you are not feeling great you won't be able to perform at your best anyway.

If it was a TT, you could ride it for training, not worry too much about your time cos you're not 100% fit and it's still early season, it'd give you a target time you could blitz next time out.

But if it's a race, if you're not 100% will you feel crap, ride slow, get dropped and end-up really miserable ? And delay your eventual recovery...

Like the guys say, I'd miss this one, recover quicker and come back fighting at the next one
  • sounds like sound advice guys... ta. :( I'm still off work and am still not really feeling up to training hard so looks like its definitely out.

its a bit depressing... these things always seem to hit when you're getting some form!
